The European Journal of Materials Science and Engineering (EJMSE) is a high quality peer-reviewed journal devoted to the publication of original research papers in the broad field of materials science and engineering.
EJMSE is an OPEN ACCESS journal. The journal DOES NOT HAVE Article Publication Charge (APC) nor a Submission Charge.
EJMSE publishes original research papers, review articles, survey articles and book and project reviews in all areas dedicated to materials research.
EJMSE is co-edited by: Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi (TUIASI), Romania and Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia (UNIMAP). See board [ here ].
Publication ethics
Publishers and editors will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred. Plagiarism software is used for primary check-up of manuscripts. We do not encourage any misconduct or fraud.
In the event that a published article doesn’t respect the ethics, will be retracted and the information will be displayed on the webpage of the journal, respectively all databases will be informed. The authors involved in non-ethical issues will be banned from publication for a specific amount of time.
Corrections or clarifications are possible on articles, based on letter to editor, if issues are identified. If is the case the authors will offer apologies.
Duplicate Publication
It is unethical for authors to submit multiple similar manuscripts for publication at a time. It is also unethical for authors to submit a manuscript that has already been published or is in the process of review elsewhere.
The publication which exhibits substantial overlapping from two or more previous publications without appropriate cross-referencing or justification for the overlap, i.e. redundant publications, are accepted only if: (i) it is felt that editorially this will strengthen the academic discourse and (ii) citation to the original source is included.
Reproducibility, Plagiarism and Falsification
Authors must report their work accurately and precisely in order to be reproduced by other researchers independently. Plagiarism and falsification in any parts of the submitted paper are serious offences to the scientific community and must strictly be avoided.
Using artificial intelligence (AI) to create written or visual content
Authors should not include generative AI technology as a co-author or author on any submitted manuscript. Generative AI technologies cannot be held accountable for all aspects of a manuscript, and thus do not meet the criteria for authorship.
If the author of a submitted manuscript used written or visual content created or edited with generative AI technology, the use must adhere to all publishing guidelines and policies. Specifically, the author is responsible for verifying the factual accuracy of any content generated by generative AI technology. This includes, but is not limited to, all quotes, citations, and references. Figures created or edited with generative AI technology must be verified to ensure they accurately reflect the data presented in the manuscript. Authors must also ensure that any written or visual content created or edited using generative AI technology is plagiarism-free.
If the author of a submitted manuscript used written or visual content created or edited with generative AI technology, such use must be acknowledged in the manuscript’s acknowledgements section as well as the methods section, if applicable. This explanation must include the name, version, model, and source of the generative AI technology.
We encourage authors to include all input prompts and outputs received from generative AI technology in the manuscript’s supplementary files.
Data and Supporting Evidence
We support transparency and openness around data, code, and other materials associated with research. We expect authors to maintain accurate records of supporting evidence necessary to allow others to understand, verify, and replicate new findings, and to supply or provide access to this supporting evidence, on reasonable request.
Peer-review Process
All articles published in the EJMSE journal are subjected to peer-review. Single blind Peer-review is used, involving minimum 2 top experts in the field for each article (Reviewers aware of the name of authors, but authors do not know the name of reviewers). All reviewers involved in the journal’s work should not have any conflict of interest.
Authorship
The co-authors should be limited to those who have sufficiently contributed to the content of the work in responsible and accountable manners. The corresponding author must confirm that submission of the manuscript has been approved by all co-authors. Authors are obliged to participate in peer review process. All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes. Please make sure that financial support is presented, if any.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose conflicts of interest and state all funding sources that have supported the work.
Research with Humans or Animals
Research involving humans or animals should be approved by relevant ethics committee(s) and should conform to international ethical and legal standards for research. We also expect authors to respect human participants’ right to privacy, and to gain any necessary consent to publish before submitting to EJMSE.
Copyright – CC BY-NC
EJMSE is an OPEN ACCESS journal. All content is freely available without charge to any user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. It is compulsory to insert reference of the cited article.
Concerning the permission for copyrighted images used in your manuscript, this is entirely the responsibility of authors (whether they’ll be screenshots – e.g. of a scene from a video, photos, figures, tables, maps, graphics, etc.).
The journal allows the author(s) to hold the copyright without restrictions and to retain publishing rights without restrictions.
As an author, you retain rights for large number of authors uses, including use by your employing institute or company. These rights are retained and permitted without the need to obtain specific permission from Editor. These include:

- the right to prepare other derivative works, to extend the journal article into book-length form, or to otherwise re-use portions or excerpts in other works, with full acknowledgement of its original publication in the journal.
Publication Fee: No submission or publication charge is applied.
The EJMSE publishes 4 regular issues/year (March/June/September/December).
Digital Archiving And Preservation Policy
LOCKSS – multiple copies – saved on different servers and backups.
Digital preservation is a set of processes and activities that ensure the retrieval and distribution of information now available in digital formats to guarantee long-term, perpetual access. The preservation policy includes the following measures:
Website Archiving
All of the electronic content (website, manuscript, etc.) is stored in three different sources. Content on a server is online and accessible to readers. A copy of the same content is preserved as a backup on two other sources. Should a server fail, other resources can be brought online, and the website is expected to be available in 24-72 hours.
Abstracting/Indexing Services
EJMSE’s Abstracting/Indexing services store essential information about articles. In addition, some of EJMSE’s Abstracting/Indexing services archive metadata about the article and electronic versions of the articles. In this way, copies of articles are presented to the scientific community through these systems as an alternative to journals.
Responsibilities
Politehnium Publishing House assumes the responsibility of archiving all digital materials included in EJMSE for as long as needed. The integrity of these archives is periodically checked.
We follow current standards and best practices related to creating, maintaining, and storing digital archives according to the digital archiving policy as determined by international and national institutions and governing bodies.
We accomplish digital archiving goals by developing and maintaining the hardware, software, expertise, and protocols necessary to ensure long-term access.
Recommendations for authors
- Authors are encouraged to use and preserve the final version of PDFs on the journal website. If an article has been posted on a preprint server, a link to the journal website or the publication reference should be added to the preprint record.
- Authors could choose an official or suitable online platform to archive articles through Directory of Open Access Repositories.
